THE CLIENT

After selling 110 locations of the Canadian company Island Hearing, CEO Marke Hambley formed another chain of retail hearing aid locations under the name NexGen Hearing in British Columbia. He started with 5 locations and grew the company to 50 locations in an amazingly short period of 5 years, before selling the company to Hearing Life. 

THE CHALLENGE

British Columbia is a common retirement destination and has a high concentration of hearing aid stores under many company names serving that demographic. The challenge was to differentiate the new NexGen brand and quickly gather leads from search and social media to build revenue and help them open new locations. 

THE STRATEGY

The Motiliti team took control of every aspect of NexGen’s digital strategy. This included redesigning and building a new website, aggressively pursuing SEO to control local search, creating and optimizing paid search ads, and bringing their target demographic to the website from social media platforms.

Motiliti focused its efforts on lead capture as a direct method of measuring ROAS. We also implemented Live Chat on the site and created an online hearing test to engage and convert visitors to leads.

THE RESULTS

NexGen’s ranking went from ZERO rankings on page one in Google search to 288 keywords in the top 3 positions on page one. Meanwhile, a competitor, the largest hearing aid chain in North America, had only HALF this number of top 3 positions.

Nexgen’s traffic went from less than 500 visits a month to over 11,000 unique visitors a month, representing a 2100% increase in traffic.

NexGen’s lead generation went from almost zero (their leadership team had been unsure if they even were getting leads at all) to 400-500 leads per month.
